September Enjoying working in groups for Activity Based Learning. We were ordering the school address and designing a classroom in Lego as part of our World Around Us topic 'Our School Environment'. Another group was ordering the days of the week and some children were practising addition and subtraction on the iPads.

3rd-7th Oct. Maths Week Fun! We played + and - Bingo and we had a Beetle Drive. In P.E. we made sets of numbers and number shapes.

10th Oct. Our Town Environment. As part of our World Around Us topic we went for a walk around Portadown to look at some of its main features. We also looked at some old photos to see what had changed and what had stayed the same.
We wrote a recount of our town walk in groups. Each group wrote about a different part and then we put all the sections in order.
October. We made models of some important buildings in our town - St Mark's Church, Town Hall, Police Station, Railway Station, Library, Fire Station and of course Mackle's Ice-cream Shop.

Nov. Maths investigation in pairs adding and subtracting dominoes. Sorting for odds and evens.
Nov. Oral storytelling of the Three Little Pigs, using story maps and alternative endings.
Nov. We went out into the streets around school to look at house types and recorded what we saw for our Homes topic.
We sorted pictures of our own houses into Venn Diagrams.
Nov/Dec Task Box activities for our Homes topic. Program the Beebot to go to the right house, follow instructions to play a game, act out 'The Three Little Pigs' and draw homes for different animals.

January. Practical tens and units using Base 10 material.
January. We made puppets and used them to retell the traditional tale of The Princess and the Frog.
January. Estimating and measuring. in groups we had to make a shark about 1 metre long.
Our W.A.U. topic is Weather. We dramatised a windy story called Mrs Mopple's Washing Line.
3rd February. Two ladies came to talk to us about walking to school safely in the dark mornings and evenings and travelling safely in the car. We each were given a high visibility vest and stickers.
February. Handa's Surprise is a story from a hot climate in Africa. We had great fun acting it out to help us remember the order of the animals and fruits to make a story path.
