'Learning together for a better tomorrow'

Video Conferencing

On Tuesday 5th February Millington’s pupils were connected via video conference to one of Ireland’s bestselling children’s authors, Marita Conlon-McKenna, to talk about her bookUnder the Hawthorn Tree, the first instalment of her world-famous Children of the Famine Trilogy. The event was organised jointly by NEELB.tv, who provided and managed the technical facilities on site; C2k, who provide the ICT infrastructure to all schools; and National Museums Northern Ireland. The event was supported by O’Brien Press. Millington's pupils were able to watch and listen remotely with 110 other schools as the event took place at the Ulster American Folk Park.  It was great to get the opportunity to put questions to her and to learn a little more about Marita as an author.
