Christmas Jumper Design

 

On Christmas jumper day, we designed our very own Christmas jumper.

We then did show and tell as a whole class. Everyone had to tell the class about their design.

Sound of the Week- m

Hot- Seating 

 

We had Goldilocks visit our classroom today. We put her in the hot seat and asked her some questions to find out how she was feeling when she visited the three bears.

Sequencing

 

We are learning to sequence parts of the story ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’. We discussed first, second and last.

Pass the Parcel Syllable Game

 

This week we’ve been learning to clap out syllables in a word.  We played the game pass the basket to practise clapping out. When the music stopped we had to take something out of the basket and clap out the syllables.  We then had to put it in the correct hoop.

Pumpkin Soup

 

We had a very special treat today in Year 1.  After reading the lovely story ‘Pumpkin Soup’ we enjoyed learning how to make Pumpkin Soup. We were able to see and smell what a pumpkin is like inside.  

When the soup was ready we got to taste it too! Delicious!

Rhyming Words

 

We had great fun exploring the concept of rhyme.  In groups, we had to match the pictures that rhyme.

We learned that rhyming words are words that sound 'nearly the same.'

The sounds blend together to make a word.
