HEALTHY BREAKS

The school operates a Healthy Breaks Policy, which we feel is of great importance to the children as part of their overall development. The school provides healthy breaks and milk for children in Year 1 and Year 2. Parents are asked to contribute £2.00 per week towards the cost of these breaks. Children in Years 3 to 7 are asked to bring in a ‘healthy’ mid morning snack and avoid items such as crisps, chocolate biscuits, sweets and fizzy drinks. We do not have set options but normally the older children will discuss as a class what is a ‘healthy snack’ at the start of the school year, and agree amongst themselves what they consider is suitable. The policy does not apply to packed lunches at the middle of the day but we would encourage healthy options here too.
